Creating a Mailing List for a CMC Cluster

Learn how to effectively create and manage a mailing list for your CMC cluster

Set Up

  1. Put in a ticket to ciresithelp@colorado.edu to create a group for your cluster. Specify who should be administrators who can add and remove members.
  2. Add members to the group using Google Groups. You can see your cluster list using the CMC application on InsideCIRES. (Note this list will automatically stay up-to-date and list only the people who are CMC constituents. This means grad students, who belong to CECA instead, will not be included.)
  3. Maintain the list by adding and removing members on a regular basis. You can again use the CMC app for this. 

Google Groups Workflow

  1. Go to https://groups.google.com/
  2. Click on your group
  3. Select Members from the left side menu:
  4. Using the InsideCIRES CMC app, add and remove members. To add, click on Add Members above the names to add a member

To remove, hover your mouse over the icon to the left of the person’s name. This will will turn the icon into a checkbox.

Check the checkbox, and at the top of the table, click the remove button:
