CIRES employees are required to periodically complete different trainings to stay up-to-date on university and federal policies, procedures and best practices. These training requirements vary depending on whether you work at CU campus, or are embedded in NOAA under the CIESRDS agreement.

CU Boulder Campus located staff must complete:

CU: Nondiscrimination, Sexual Misconduct, and Reporting: This must be completed within 30 days of hire and renewed every three years. Access via the CU Boulder OIEC Mandatory Training Page. If you are out of compliance you will receive automated periodic reminders to your CU email address. This is assigned within your Precipio profile/learning transcript.

CU: Information Security Awareness: This Must be completed within 60 days of hire and renewed every two years. CU Office of Information Technology tracks this course and sends out reminders for those out of compliance. This is assigned within your Precipio profile/learning transcript.

CIRES Staff in CIESRDS/NOAA must complete these IN ADDITION to those listed above:

Cyber Awareness Challenge This must be completed on hire before your NOAA email/accounts are provisioned and then once every 365-days thereafter. Your NOAA account will be deactivated if you lapse in compliance for this training. Accessible through the Commerce Learning Center and will be assigned by your federal sponsor. Questions should be directed to your lab or center IT.

SASH: The NOAA Sexual Assault and Sexual Harrassment training is required within 30-days of starting at the NOAA labs/centers and then once annually thereafter. Accessible through the Commerce Learning Center and will be assigned by your federal sponsor.

NOAA Records Management Fundamentals: This is completed on an annual basis with a due date of July 31 each year. Accessible through the Commerce Learning Center and will be assigned by your federal sponsor.

*Additional and highly encouraged for those at NOAA/CIESRDS:

NOAA Scientific Integrity Training: accessible to all with CLC access: Commerce Learning Center. Please note that those working under CIESRDS at NOAA are required to follow the NOAA Scientific Integrity Policy and understand its contents. Completing this training helps you understand this policy. This training is renewed annually. You will need to manually search the learning catalog for this training as it will not be automatically assigned by your federal sponsor.
