Edit your content on Drupal

There are two ways to quickly and easily edit content on your Drupal site.

The first is explained in the Content Overview documentation, where you browser through a table of existing content, find the content you wish to edit and select edit.

The second is to simply browse the website, find the page or content you wish to edit and select either the EDIT button found within that specific pages tab options

OR, by selecting a pencil or a small ‘edit’ option on a card or other object found on that page if it exists on your specific site. Know that even though an edit icon or text displays on this element you may ALWAYS edit it by browsing to that specific content and selecting the ‘edit’ in both ways detailed above.

Not all pieces of content have these edits or pencils!

Content you may not find editable

In Drupal we use Views, detailed in the Drupal and You documentation to gather and display content in very customizable able specific ways. These are often… complicated and quite detailed and as such we do not offer general users the ability to update or alter these views. If you find you want to update a layout, a standardize output on a view, etc always place a ticket in with ciresithelp@colorado.edu at any time and we’re always on-hand to assist.

Note, on the main CIRES website we are utilizing a decoupled architecture which is to say, that when you make an edit in the Drupal admin, it can take 10-20 seconds for this edit to display on the preview page. Depending on your update and how you are browsing the site you may need to refresh your browser to view your newly added edits.
