Forwarding CU Calendar Events to your @noaa.gov email

We understand how difficult it is manage two calendars on two different systems. This is a common issue for our employees who primarily work in their NOAA.gov calendars (Gmail) and are require to use their CU Accounts (Office365) for official CIRES business. This simple guide will show you how you can forward events from your CU Account to your @noaa.gov account to make calendar management a bit easier.

Steps to Create the Rule (Classic Outlook)

  1. Open Rules Wizard: Go to File > Manage Rules & Alerts > New Rule.
  2. Start from Blank: Choose "Apply rule on messages I receive" and click Next.
  3. Select Condition: Scroll down and check the box for "which is a meeting invitation or update". Click Next.
  4. Choose Action: Check "forward it to people or public group" or "forward it to people or public group as an attachment".
  5. Specify Recipient: Click the underlined "people or public group" link to select the forwarding address, then Next.
  6. Add Exceptions (Optional): Add any exceptions (e.g., specific senders) and click Next.
  7. Name & Finish: Name your rule (e.g., "Forward Calendar Invites"), check "Run this rule now on messages already in 'Inbox'" if needed, and click Finish

For New Outlook (Web/Desktop) : https://outlook.office.com

  1. Open Settings: Click the Settings gear icon > Mail > Rules > Add new rule.
  2. Name & Condition: Give it a name. Under "Add a condition," select "Message includes" > "Type" > "Invitation" (or "Meeting").
  3. Add Action: Under "Add an action," choose "Forward to" or "Move to" and select the folder/person, then Save.
