Regrets and Dispositions (for University Staff roles)

● After each stage in the process, the committee meets to decide which candidates advance. As the recruiting cycle continues, the Hiring Supervisor notifies Central HR Recruiter of any unqualified candidates they wish to remove from the pool and why. Please make sure you always keep any potential backup candidates in the pool.

Dispositions can happen during the screening and interview process. If, after the initial application review, you are certain that a number of applicants do not meet the minimum requirements, please notify Central HR. They will send these applicants a regret and will disposition them out of the pool of applicants after indicating the justification that you have offered.

● Please keep a record of disposition reasons either in the applicant tracking system (Avature) or in your personal rubric. Please note that it is mandatory to offer a justification of why each applicant (with the exception of the hired applicant) has not advanced to the next stage in the search. Please note that our Central HR offices will not process and enter the newly hired employee into the HR Information System until all other applicants have been notified and have been dispositioned out of the pool of applicants in Avature.

● All interviewed candidates receive personal regrets from the Hiring Supervisor. CIRES HR has developed a sample template that you can manipulate and use for these purposes.
